A dish that stands out from the rest however, has to be our take on the British classic, Bangers & Mash – featuring our award-winning own-recipe sausages.
This First & Last dish however, is unlike your average bangers and mash, we raise it to a new level with our smoky home-baked beans and first-class Primrose Herd pork bangers!
While creamy mashed potatoes and award-winning juicy sausages are all well and good; we believe it’s our Head Chef Adam’s unique homemade baked beans that are our ‘secret weapon’.
When asked Adam about how our Kitchen Team prepare our homemade baked beans, he answered: “We take dried beans and cook them for a couple of hours, then add a tasty tomato sauce, paprika, chorizo and pancetta, and finish by adding smoked pork fat and honey. The result is almost like a bean stew, with chunks of meat and veg. It’s completely different to what you’d buy in the supermarket.”
Having been with us for a year now, Adam has certainly put his stamp on the First & Last Inn menu, but we’re not stopping there. We have more sumptuous surprises and delectable dishes just around the corner for you – stay tuned to find out more in coming weeks…
