A number of Cornish manuscripts of dance music from the period 1750 to 1850 tell of the employment of dancing masters and a funky repertoire that spanned class barrier.

Ok, so they weren’t funky - we made that bit up - but it was quite a repertoire. Seasonal and community festivals, mumming and guising all flourished and records even exist of illegal dancing in farmhouse kitchens and fish cellars.

So, it’s fair to say that Cornwall has a unique history when it comes to music and, here at the First & Last Inn, we take heritage very seriously with an exciting events package throughout the year.
